Gathering data required for capacity planning Copied

To identify the hosts you want to include in your capacity reports, Opsview Cloud comes with a pair of Host Templates that include all the functionality needed to understand their resource utilization. These Host Templates mark your Opsview Hosts as candidates for inclusion in the capacity reports.

The Export - Capacity Planner - Server is a requirement on any host you wish to include in your capacity reports, while the Export - Capacity Planner - Server Advanced Host Template is optional, but provides additional information to enhance categorization and reasoning.

Each host using these Host Templates must have an Opsview Agent or ITRS Infrastructure Agent installed.

Additionally, the data gathered can be viewed and interacted with in Opsview as normal, even before your capacity reports are generated.

See the Export - Capacity Planner Opspack documentation for full details on these Host Templates.

Managing the generation of scheduled reports Copied

On request, ITRS Support will configure your Opsview Cloud instance to begin exporting the required data to our dedicated capacity planning service. Once the data is collected and processed, you will begin receiving scheduled capacity reports via email.
