ITRS Opsview Cloud Documentation

Withdraw of the 6.9.2 Release

Unfortunately, due to critical issues identified with version 6.9.2, we have decided to remove it and ensure it's no longer available for download. These issues impacted the ability to install or upgrade but none were security-related. We are diligently working to resolve these issues and are planning to release an updated version 6.9.3 in early May.

What if you've already upgraded?

For customers who have already upgraded to 6.9.2, no immediate action is required, as none of these issues are security-related. Once it's available, you will still be able to upgrade to 6.9.3 as normal. We appreciate your patience and trust as we continue to enhance our software to better serve you. Thank you for your understanding.

Supported operating systems

Supported platform Copied

ITRS Opsview supports the following Linux distributions for your Opsview Monitor environment. You must verify that your intended platform is supported in the list below prior to installation.

For optimal performance and guaranteed support, we strongly recommend deploying Opsview with all components on the same version. Running components from different versions, such as a 6.8.x Orchestrator with 6.7.x collectors, or using a component in version 6.8.5 with another component in version 6.8.2, is not supported.

Upgrading all Opsview components to the latest version is recommended for a mixed-environment. Also, minor version differences may exist between Opsview components, but this is normal as not all packages update every release. As long as your repository is current and no updates are available, this helps ensure Opsview runs properly and avoids compatibility issues.

Operating system Version supported Architecture Status FIPS support
Debian 10.x (Buster) 64-bit Supported Unsupported
CentOS 7.x 64-bit Supported Supported
RHEL 7.x 64-bit Supported Supported
RHEL 8.x 64-bit Supported Supported (requires additional configuration; see FIPS compatibilities)
RHEL 9.x 64-bit Supported Supported (requires additional configuration; see FIPS compatibilities)
OL (Formerly OEL) 7.x 64-bit Supported Supported
OL (Formerly OEL) 8.x 64-bit Supported Supported (requires additional configuration; see FIPS compatibilities)
Ubuntu (LTS) 18.04 (Bionic Beaver) 64-bit Supported Unsupported
Ubuntu (LTS) 20.04 (Focal Fossa) 64-bit Supported Unsupported

The Opsview Monitor software is tested against all latest package updates to include major fixes and security updates across all distributions. It is recommended you ensure that your target platform has the most up-to-date packages, fixes and so on. Furthermore, ensure you use the latest stable release of your distribution unless stated elsewhere in your documentation that is needed to successfully run Opsview Monitor.

Virtualization Copied

Opsview Monitor supports the following virtualisation technologies in combination with supported operating systems (see above); this is limited to our ability to test and diagnose issues. You must verify that your intended virtualisation platform is supported in the following list:

Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) Copied

Opsview Monitor will run on specific FIPS-compliant operating systems with FIPS mode enabled (see the support table above). Different packages may be installed on FIPS-enabled systems. This is managed automatically by opsview-deploy, so you can follow the usual installation instructions.

To enable FIPS on a system which already has Opsview installed, please contact the Customer Success team.
