Support policy

Supported versions Copied

Opsview supports all releases of Opsview Monitor for two years from the date of release, or the current release and the two prior releases, whichever is longer.

For example, if the current release is 6.4.x, then 6.3.x and 6.2.x will also be supported as the two previous releases. If it had been less than two years since 6.1.x was released, that would also be supported.

The currently supported versions are:

Version Release Date End of Support Date
Opsview Monitor 6.10 July 2024 July 2026
Opsview Monitor 6.9 January 2024 January 2026
Opsview Monitor 6.8 January 2023 January 2025, or with the release of Opsview Monitor 6.11, whichever comes later.

Supported means that security issues will be investigated, code updates will be issued, and documentation will be updated.

Note

For Opsview to run correctly, all Opsview components on all servers must be installed from the same release repository. Mixing Opsview component versions from different releases, such as using opsview-datastore from 6.8.x and opsview-messagequeue from 6.7.x, is not supported.

Opsview Collectors must also be installed from the same release repository as the core servers, whether they are deploy-based or are Remotely Managed Collectors. The only exception to this is the Opsview agent installed on monitored devices. The agent version does not need to match the exact Opsview version you’re using. However, it is always recommended to install the latest version of the agent whenever possible. For more information, see Supported operating systems.

Each release has a list of supported operating systems and browsers. Please check the supported lists in the Opsview compatibility matrix.
