Released: 31 May 2022
This release delivers the updated binaries in the ITRS Downloads page for:
- Active Console
- Gateway
- Kubernetes plugin
- Netprobe
- Refinitiv RTDS Integration
- Web Dashboard
Highlights Copied
These are the highlights of this release:
- Geneos and Obcerv connectivity is the platform to take performance monitoring to the next level. With scalable architecture and data storage, it is a platform to take control of the complex IT infrastructure and application monitoring. Geneos real-time monitoring, together with ITRS Obcerv, allows you to store, collate, contextualise, and visualise your data, giving you end to end visibility for operational resilience.
- Gateways can publish all your metrics and events to Obcerv for storage and analysis. Data filtering at with efficient data compression and scalable storage in delivers a reliable platform for operational data.
- Netprobes can publish log data to Obcerv, so you have metrics and logs together in a single platform. This allows you to build a workflow that takes you from a real-time log monitoring view in Geneos Active Console to Log Investigation in Obcerv.
- Active Console users can build history charts by querying the data stored in Obcerv. For more information on how can help improve your operational resilience, see use case scenarios.
- Easy access to Geneos data. For many of our customers, Geneos is a critical component of the operation landscape, so having easy access to data is important to building well-integrated workflows. We are introducing two new ways to access the real-time data in Geneos Gateways. This is in addition to the already supported publishing method to Kafka and the new ITRS Obcerv platform.
- Gateways can publish data to an HTTP/HTTPS endpoint. This is a generic lightweight method to publish (POST) metrics and events to other systems. Filtering at Gateway lets you control what you publish to minimise downstream data requirements.
- Gateway REST service now supports a new endpoint to request a snapshot of a dataview. This is ideal for reporting and visualisation tools to request a snapshot view of a specific dataview from .
- Kubernetes plugin can now collect metrics describing the state of namespaces, nodes, pods, and the workload resources such as deployments, daemon sets, replica sets, stateful sets, and jobs. We will continue to focus on the Kubernetes plugin in the next release to add more metrics describing the state of control plane objects such as API Server, control manager, and scheduler.

Highlights Copied
These are the highlights of this release:
-
With the addition of the Geneos AWS Monitor plugin, you can now monitor your AWS resources in a single enterprise platform alongside your on-premise and hybrid environments. The plugin collects AWS CloudWatch metrics, logs, and events to provide unified information across your AWS resources. Data is collected with minimal configuration and Geneos entities are created dynamically as you deploy more AWS services. This is a fully supported integration to give you a single pane of glass view of your entire deployment stack. In addition, the AWS plugin can:
- Monitor AWSservices such as EC2, ECS, EKS, RDS, EBS, EFS, firewall, billing, and more.
- Generate close to real-time alerts using Geneos powerful rule and alert capabilities.
- Minimise configuration with built-in dynamic entity mappings for more automated discovery.
- Minimise cost by using a single enterprise tool for monitoring.
- See your entire estate in one platform with monitoring that scales with you.
-
You can now deploy the AWS plugin through the by launching an EC2 instance based on the published ITRS’s pre-configured AMI. This deployment makes the configuration of the AWS plugin easier with built-in dynamic entity mapping to minimise Gateway configuration. Different scenarios are also supported for you to deploy your virtual machine. See AWS Plugin in AWS Marketplace.
-
Gateway can now collect statistics to help determine the requirements for storing Gateways data in the Obcerv platform (formerly Hub 3).
-
The slash character (/, U+002F) is now allowed in the Geneos component names generated by dynamic mappings.
-
New
<probeHostname>
macro in the Self-Announcing Netprobe setup file which supports hostnames with dots in the names. -
Various updates to fix known security vulnerabilities.
Breaking changes Copied
If you are upgrading from an earlier version of Geneos, please read Upgrade Notes for compatibility changes you should be aware of before upgrading.
New features and enhancements Copied
These are the new features and enhancements of this release:
Issue key | Component | Release description |
---|---|---|
AA-6246 | Netprobe | Netprobe now tracks the last update time for each row generated from Collection Agent metrics.* When a row has not been updated for the number of seconds specified as the stale data timeout (default value is 120 seconds), it is dropped from the dataview. * When a dynamic dataview has no current rows, it is dropped; if its parent dynamic sampler has no dataviews, it is also dropped. If a dynamic sampler is dropped and its parent entity now has no dynamic samplers or streams, that dynamic entity is dropped. |
AA-6263 | Gateway | To help determine the potential size of Obcerv storage for an existing Gateway, Gateway collects sizing statistics for gRPC messages and a Gateway setup option exists to choose Statistics only instead of Grpc in the Hub 3 Connection > Adapter. This option directs Gateway to discard messages instead of opening a gRPC connection. Statistics are gathered as long as Hub 3 publishing is enabled, whether the selected Hub 3 adapter is Statistics only or Grpc . The Gateway-hubConnection plugin has a Detail view showing the message rate and byte rate for each type of gRPC message. The Gateway also writes log messages showing the same information every 10 minutes. |
AA-6267 | Gateway, Netprobe | The slash character (/, U+002F) is now allowed in the Geneos component names generated by dynamic mappings. Since this character is not allowed in the Gateway Hub (Gateway Hub 2) metric series names, Gateway replaces each slash character in probe, entity, sampler, or dataview names with a hyphen (-, U+002D) when formatting Kafka messages for Gateway Hub. No such replacement is done in the messages published through Kafka to external systems, or in data published through gRPC to Obcerv (Hub 3). |
AA-6276 | Gateway | Legacy Dynamic Mapping that was introduced in the Geneos 5.1.x has been removed. This configuration has already been deprecated and was replaced by more simplified Dynamic entities > Mapping configuration in Geneos 5.7.0. |
AZUREMON-351 | Azure, Collection Agent | The Netty libraries have been upgraded to 4.1.70 to address the following security vulnerabilities:* BDSA-2021-2832 * BDSA-2021-2831 |
COL-9641 | Active Console, GSE, Netprobe, FIX Analyser 2 Netprobe, File Agent | Netprobe now encodes user supplied invalid URL before displaying the message to the client. This addresses the QID 150117 Path-Based Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability. |
COL-9643 | Active Console, GSE, Netprobe, FIX Analyser 2 Netprobe, File Agent | Active Console, Netprobe FIX Analyser 2, and File Agent Orb page now returns Invalid Page Name when BDO index is appended with extension. This addresses the QID 150004 Path-Based vulnerability. |
COL-9932 | Netprobe, FIX Analyser 2 Netprobe | When a Self-announcing Netprobe chooses a Gateway to connect to, as long as it is configured to allow only reverse connections, it no longer resets its initial connection to that Gateway. |
COL-10445 | Netprobe | Added new <probeHostname> macro in Self-announcing Netprobe setup file which supports hostnames with dots in the names. |
COL-10526 | Netprobe | Publisher plugin has been updated so that Success, Failed, and Lost columns no longer just accumulate the number of events. Instead, the columns now show the number of occurrences of each event for each sample interval. |
COL-10555 | Netprobe, FIX Analyser 2 Netprobe | If a Self-announcing Netprobe is configured to require reverse connections, it rejects an unsolicited forward connection from a Gateway. |
COL-10632 | Netprobe, Collection Agent | Collection Agent has been updated to 2.3.2. |
HAAW-198 | AWS, Collection Agent | This release introduced the AWS plugin 2.0.0. The AWS plugin is a Collection Agent plugin that gathers metrics through AWS CloudWatch. This plugin also provides an API Destination that can interact with AWS services, such as EventBridge and SNS. |
COL-10645 | Netprobe, AWS, Collection Agent | The AWS plugin 2.0.0 binaries are packaged with Netprobe 5.11.x, and are also available to download from the ITRS Downloads. |
AA-6323 | Gateway | Added the aws_mapping.xml include file that can be used with the AWS plugin. This includes custom mappings and sample FKM samplers for the API Destination collector. |
COL-10649 | Netprobe | Publisher plugin no longer publishes event logs to Hub 3 (Obcerv) with Gateway name as dimension. |
COL-10651 | Netprobe, Azure, Collection Agent | The Netprobe package has been updated with Azure plugin 2.1.1. |
COL-10665 | Netprobe, Prometheus, Collection Agent | The Netprobe package has been updated with Prometheus plugin 2.0.2. |
VI-8939 | Active Console, GSE | The OkHttp library in the Active Console has been upgraded to 3.12.12 to address the security vulnerability: CVE-2018-20200 (BDSA-2018-4848). |
VI-9256 | Active Console, GSE | Active Console no longer packages the old deprecated ActiveConsole-1.0.jar , which solves the JDIC license vulnerability. |
VI-9303 | Web Server | The Apache commons IO has been upgraded to 2.11 to address security vulnerability: CVE-2021-29425. |
VI-9347 | Web Server | Web Server now displays a new banner and browser tab icon. |
VI-9374 | Active Console, GSE | The json-smart has been upgraded from 2.3 to 2.4.7 to address the security vulnerability: CVE-2021-31684. |
VI-9378 | Active Console, GSE, Web Server | The LICENCE and NOTICES files now include information for Java Native Access, jh, jhall, jhbasic, and JIDE. |
Issues fixed Copied

Issue key | Component | Release description |
---|---|---|
AA-6211 | Gateway | The formatting of the output of some Gateway commands has been improved so that when they are used in user-defined task commands, the output is more readable. |
AA-6239 | Gateway | Checks have been added in the Gateway to reject a probe if the connection details do not match those that are expected for that connection. |
AA-6289 | Gateway | Kubernetes mappings no longer generate entity clashes. When you upgrade to Netprobe 5.11.0, you must upgrade your Kubernetes mapping template to the latest version. |
AA-6301 | Netprobe | Fixed an error in the Publisher plugin when configured to publish to Hub 3 (Obcerv), and Hub 3 (Obcerv) is not configured with rootCA. |
AA-6320 | Gateway | The schema definition supplied for Gateway-hubConnection has been amended to avoid ingestion errors when this sampler is published to Gateway Hub 2. |
COL-10180 | Netprobe | Fixed issue where Netprobe exits when given an invalid X-plugin configuration. |
C2-326 | Prometheus, Collection Agent | Fixed missing Snappy dependency in the Prometheus plugin. |

Geneos 5.10.0 Copied
Released: 30 September 2021
This release delivers the updated binaries in the ITRS Downloads page for:
- Active Console
- Azure plugin
- Azure Marketplace
- File Agent
- FIX Analyser 2 Netprobe
- Gateway
- Licence Auditor
- Licence Daemon
- Netprobe
- Prometheus plugin
- Web Server
- Webslinger
Highlights Copied
These are the highlights of this release:
-
- Prometheus has become a widely adopted standard in application monitoring, especially in orchestrated environments. If Prometheus is your choice of tool, the Geneos plugin for Prometheus and Alert Manager lets you bring your metrics and Alert Manager events into Geneos for a unified view across your entire stack. It includes the extraction of the data itself, plus the ability to dynamically generate Geneos data structures, minimising configuration, and maintenance. Alert Manager data can also be streamed into FKM plugin for monitoring specific events.
-
Azure Event Hub plugin integration
- Azure plugin now supports the ability to consume real-time metrics from the Azure Event Hub service. This is an alternative to polling the Azure Monitor API, enabling to monitor your Azure cloud environment at scale and in real-time. Built-in mappings for the Azure plugin allow Geneos to dynamically create entities and dataviews to keep configuration to minimum.
-
- You can now deploy the Azure plugin through the Azure Marketplace. This deployment makes the configuration of the Azure plugin easier with built-in dynamic entity mapping to minimise Gateway configuration. Different scenarios are also supported for you to deploy your virtual machine.
-
OP5 Monitor plugin is a comprehensive monitoring and alerting tool for your IT networks and infrastructures. Geneos OP5 Monitor plugin allows you to visualise the host and service level status in alongside your application monitoring.
-
REST Extractor plugin now supports
POST
content-type options for integrating with other applications and services. -
The Dynamic Entities Health view now includes messagesLost metric to better monitor the dynamically created streams in Geneos.
-
New
/liveness
endpoint to programmatically test the state of all Geneos components.
New features and enhancements Copied
These are the new features and enhancements of this release:
Issue key | Component | Release description |
---|---|---|
AA-6179 | Gateway | The -gateway-name command line option can now be used, in conjunction with the -setup option, to set the Gateway name. This allows the Gateway name to be omitted from an explicitly named setup file. Without the -setup option, the -gateway-name option continues to direct Gateway to use centralised configuration. |
COL-9917 | Netprobe | The Netty Project libraries in the Netprobe package have been upgraded to version 4.1.67 to address the following security vulnerabilities:
|
COL-9994 | Netprobe, Prometheus | The Prometheus plugin 2.0.0 binaries are packaged with Netprobe 5.10.x, and are also available to download from the ITRS Downloads. |

AZUREMON-350 | Azure | Added Azure Event Hub plugin which integrates with the Azure Event Hub. This supports the processing of events from Azure Diagnostics which are published to an Event Hub. |
UTL-1206 | Gateway, Netprobe, Licence Auditor, Webslinger, Licence Daemon, Web Server, FIX Analyser 2 Netprobe | Geneos components will detect incoming connections that send no data and terminate them after approximately 70 seconds, without logging any error message. This type of connection may be made by programs that probe TCP ports to make security, or liveness checks. |
UTL-1207 | Active Console, GSE, Gateway, Netprobe, Licence Auditor, Webslinger, Licence Daemon, FIX Analyser 2 Netprobe, File Agent | Added new /liveness endpoint to test the state of all Geneos components. |
VI-9335 | Web Server | The Jetty library in the Web Server has been upgraded to 9.4.43.v20210629 to address the following security vulnerability issue CVE-2021-34429 (BDSA-2021-2098). |
VI-9339 | Web Server | The Web Server now has a new config.xml property, deleteUnusedDashboards . If set to true, dashboard files in the dashboards directory that are not found in config.xml will be deleted automatically. If set to false, the unused or unreferenced dashboard files will not be deleted. By default, this is set to true to preserve the original behaviour of the Web Server. |
Issues fixed Copied
These are the issues we have fixed in this release:
Issue key | Component | Release description |
---|---|---|
AA-4943 | Active Console, GSE, Gateway, Netprobe, Webslinger, Licence Daemon, Web Server, FIX Analyser 2 Netprobe | Fixed an issue that could cause random characters to be logged when the system error codes are translated to strings. |
AA-5165 | Gateway | The formatting of the output of some Gateway commands has been improved so that when they are used in user-defined task commands, the output is more readable. |
AA-5640 | Gateway | Actions, and effects used by actions, can now invoke any command listed in the internal commands drop-down in the Gateway Setup Editor, or any other command provided by a Netprobe component, as long as its name starts with /PLUGIN: or /PROBE . However, the Gateway is unable to validate the name or arguments of such a command, any such issues will only be reported when the action is invoked. |
AA-5884 | Gateway | Gateway reports a validation error if a throttle references an action that does not exist, if a script action running on a Netprobe that does not specify a probe on which to run, or if it references a script effect running on a Netprobe that does not specify a probe on which to run. It also reports a validation warning for any action which references such a throttle. Although Gateway can usually use the source of the item that triggers the action to determine the probe on which to run a script, it cannot do so in the context of a throttle summary because the throttle can apply to data items from more than one probe. |
AA-5908 | Gateway | If the primary Gateway in a hot standby pair is restarted after the secondary has become active, the secondary will not release the Netprobes until setup, snooze, and user assignments files have been synchronised. This involved changes which must be present in both primary and secondary Gateways, both must be the same version for failback to work correctly. |
AA-6154 | Gateway | Gateway now provides a validation warning if redundant Kafka SSL settings are specified, or if Gateway Hub 3 secure communications settings are provided outside of the Basic tab in GSE. |
COL-10344 | Netprobe | TotalSpace in the Disk Plugin now displays the consistent value. |
VI-2711 | Web Server | Web Server no longer throws a null pointer exception if a folder or file with no file extension exists in the dashboard’s directory. |
VI-2982 | Gateway | Gateway error messages containing the word existant have been corrected to existent . |
VI-9201 | Active Console, GSE | The GSEDocumentException that occurs and prevents historical files from being written no longer happens. |
VI-9321 | Active Console, GSE | Active Console no longer hangs if the Metrics view table data contains curly brackets in the column headers. Active Console now replaces the curly brackets with parentheses in its rendering of the column header data. |

Centralised config migration tool Copied
Gateway configuration files can be stored and managed centrally in the Gateway Hub. The migration of Gateway configuration into Gateway Hub requires careful planning. In large enterprise environments, this can take a number of days for each Gateway.
In this release, a new standalone migration tool is now available to help with this process. The tool can be run to check the readiness of a Gateway to migrate its configuration, and when ready, to perform the migration itself. The tool is designed to be used by a Geneos administrator to allow for phased migration in large environments.
For more information, see Migrate Gateways to Centralised Configuration.

Geneos 5.7.0 Copied
Released: 7 April 2021
This release delivers the updated binaries in the ITRS Downloads page for:
- Active Console
- Gateway
- Netprobe
- Web Dashboard
Highlights Copied
These are the highlights of this release:
- Schema-less publishing to Gateway Hub.
- Simplified Dynamic Entities.
- Plugin improvements.
- Improve handling of fonts in the Web Dashboard.
- Ability to disable weak cipher suites when encrypting communication between Geneos components.
- New plugins and integrations documentation page.
Schema-less publishing to Gateway Hub Copied
Data schemas describe the data published from Gateway to Gateway Hub. The Gateway comes packaged with built-in schemas for many out-of-the-box plugins. When a data schema does not exist (in the case of custom plugins such as API and Toolkit), you can create user-defined schemas and add these to the sampler. In large environments, this could mean many hundreds of sampler configurations.
To simplify this process, Gateways can now publish data to the Gateway Hub with no schema. The Gateway Hub 2.4.x and newer versions will have the ability to auto-generate a schema based on the sample data. This approach allows for faster deployment while allowing you to fine-tune and correct any data schema issues over time.
Simplified Dynamic Entities Copied
The Dynamic Entities feature enables Gateways to automatically create Geneos data structures such as entities, attributes, samplers, and dataviews based on the mapping configuration, which describes how dimensional data received from Collection Agent are mapped to Geneos data structures.
In this release, the mapping configuration has been simplified considerably. The minimum configuration required is to map dimensions to an entity, while the rest of the Geneos data structures can be automatically derived. For more information, see Mapping type configuration in Dynamic Entities.
Plugin improvements Copied
This release introduced several updates to plugins:
- Improved NTP time offset metric in the Hardware plugin, including support for chrony on Linux machines.
- REST Extractor plugin now supports client- and server-level certificate authentication.

which contains samplers and dataviews that are automatically enabled with no configuration required. These samplers and dataviews are created using the existing plugins which you may already have manually configured in your .
If you do not wish the to automatically create a self-monitoring Entity, you can disable this feature in the > Operating environment section.
For more information, see operatingEnvironment > selfMonitoring in Operating Environment documentation. In addition, an Entity is automatically created for all running Gateways to utilise its existing built-in plugins and to dynamically start monitoring its performance. Monitoring includes data on the performance of the Gateways, connected Netprobes, and client applications, such as Active Console, connectivity to Gateway Hub, and summary of key activities including severity, snooze, and user assignments.
E4JMS plugin Copied
Beginning 5.4.x, the E4JMS plugin supports SSL client authentication. This feature introduces breaking changes to the E4JMS plugin SSL implementation for older versions.
If you are using SSL connections on your E4JMS plugins, you must update your configuration when using the new schema.
For more information, see E4JMS Plugin Technical Reference.
File Keyword Monitor plugin Copied
Beginning 5.4.x, the plugin uses Perl Compatible Regular Expressions (PCRE) by default. Be aware that this may introduce breaking changes in your implementation.

New features and enhancements Copied
These are the new features and enhancements of this release:
Issue key | Component | Release description |
---|---|---|
AA-5509 | Gateway | The algorithm used by Gateway to remove duplicates when evaluating XML path expressions has been optimised. This improves performance when parsing large setup files. |
AA-5655, COL-8444 | Gateway, Netprobe, Docker Image | Docker images containing the Gateway and Netprobe are now available from ITRS Docker website. |
AA-5665 | Gateway | The librdkafka libraries have been updated to 1.5. You may refer to the official documentation of librdkafka libraries in Github for more information. |
AA-5697 | Gateway | The new templates for Kubernetes monitoring and Cloud Foundry monitoring have been added to the Geneos Gateway package. |
AA-5727 | Gateway | Gateway now automatically adds a self-monitoring Managed Entity. You can disable this option if you want to get more control over what self-monitoring is provided. |
AA-5737 | Gateway Schema | The schema for Dynamic Entity mappings now includes an optional section called Entity Display Name Mapping . This is converted by the Gateway to mapping for a special entity attribute, GeneosDisplayName . When this attribute is present on a Dynamic Entity, it sets the display name for the entity. |
AA-5738 | Gateway | When publishing to Gateway Hub, if an entity has a display name defined, it will be published with an attribute called GeneosDisplayName with a value matching the display name. |
AA-5744 | Gateway | The template setup files supplied with Gateway, templates/gateway.setup.xml.tmpl and templates/gateway.setup.withdefaults.xml.tmpl , now specify the Gateway name as Demo Gateway so that either of them can be used unaltered as the initial setup of a Gateway in demo mode. |
AA-5764 | Gateway | Gateway now logs an error if a call made to the Hub API fails. |
AA-5780 | Gateway | The display name for a Managed Entity can now be set by defining an attribute with the name GeneosDisplayName . Setting either of these now sets the other. If there is a conflict, the attribute takes precedence. |
AA-5782, COL-9113 | Gateway, Netprobe | Gateway and Netprobe no longer log drop connections when you use the listen port to check if the Gateway or Netprobe is alive. |
COL-7601 | Netprobe | Control-M plugin now includes metrics for estimatedStartTime and estimatedEndTime in the dataview. |

---|---|---|
AA-5383 | Gateway | The probe hostname is now available to script actions and effects as _NETPROBE_HOST whether or not the rule threads are enabled. |
AA-5687 | Gateway | Gateway now correctly applies sync level requests from the Active Console Previously, Gateway would misapply sync level requests, and Gateway Sharing connections for Gateway to Gateway traffic would be marked as having an incorrect sync level. This resulted in data not being sent by the exporting gateway to the importing gateway. |
AA-5719 | Gateway | Gateway now supports the use of an effect for a throttle summary action. The set of environment variables available to an effect in this context is the same as for an action invoked directly. |
AA-5760 | Gateway | Gateway Hub validation of Gateway setup files does not check for the creation of files in the working directory, since this is a local check that Gateway Hub cannot perform. |

AA-5601 | Gateway | Gateways now only import commands from remote Gateways if SSO is enabled and the importing connection is authenticated using SSL. Additionally, the CPU resources required by the Gateway when importing commands have been significantly reduced. |
AA-5607 | Schema Netprobe | Geneos now rejects metrics with Dynamic Entity mappings, including static mappings, that produce entities, samplers, or dataviews with names that contain special characters. A Bad Mapping error will be reported in the Dynamic Entity Health plug-in. Geneos component names must only use the following characters [a-zA-Z0-9_\\% -] . |
AA-5623 | Gateway | Gateway now always sends down the Dynamic Entities Health plug-in to the Netprobe if it is configured to do so. Previously, it failed to send the plug-in if the only sampler was a Dynamic Entities Health sampler and there was no dynamic mapping that was configured for the Netprobe. |
COL-8293 | Gateway, Netprobe | Internal commands for the RMC Interface plug-in have been removed and are no longer supported. |
COL-8318 | Gateway | Netprobe is now able to resume its connection with Collection Agent when a connection was previously made following a restart of the Netprobe. |

Geneos for monitoring dynamic environments Copied
Monitoring dynamic and orchestrated environments require Geneos to be more dynamic. From on-demand and elastic server availability in cloud to containers or microservices, and orchestrators, such as Kubernetes and OpenShift, this release introduces a number of new features to make configurations easier and automate monitoring.
For Netprobe, Collection Agent, and plug-ins, the ability to dynamically collect and identify application metrics, events, and logs in a constantly changing environment is now available. Netprobe package now includes Collection Agent and plug-ins for easy deployment and management. Netprobe and Collection Agent can now be deployed natively within orchestrated environments, and scale up and down along with your application. Applications can push metrics, events, and logs to Collection Agent using a dimensional data model which retains more information about the data being sent. For more information, see Collection Agent.
Note
Collection Agent plugins require an additional licence to use. Please contact your ITRS Account Manager or Sales.
- StatsD plug-in — provides a StatsD server that allows custom metrics to be received from any application instrumented with the industry-standard StatsD protocol. ITRS-provided StatsD client libraries are available for Java and Python, with more to come over the next few releases. For more information, see StatsD Client Java and StatsD Client Python.
- Kubernetes plug-in — provides a suite of collectors and processors necessary for collecting logs, metrics, and events in a Kubernetes or OpenShift environment. For more information, see Kubernetes Collection Agent plug-in.
Dynamic Entities Copied
The ability to dynamically create Geneos data structures like entities, attributes, samplers, and dataviews based on dimensional data received from Collection Agent is now available. The dynamic mapping configuration in Gateway provides great flexibility to create your preferred view into application metrics, events, and logs. For more information, see Dynamic Entities.
MiniGeneos Copied
MiniGeneos delivers a full stack of Geneos capabilities in a self-contained, easy-to-use, and localised container environment that can be run locally in your own development machine. This enables developers, DevOps, or anyone to get up and running with full capabilities on Geneos in a sandbox environment to create, verify, and deploy monitoring alongside applications without needing to fully understand how to configure, or deploy Geneos. For more information, see MiniGeneos.
Netprobe Discovery Copied
New discovery framework for Self-announcing Netprobes to make configurations easier is now available. This includes the ability to define custom discovery scripts that can discover the application and platform environment. This discovered information can be used in the Netprobe configuration as macros to simplify and automate Self-announcing Netprobe configurations. For more information, see Auto-discovery.
More secure password Copied
Strict security and audit compliance requires passwords to be stored in central password volts for a more secure access. Geneos now supports integration with CyberArk password vault so that you no longer need to store passwords in Gateway configuration. When required, Gateway retrieves the passwords from CyberArk vault. For more information, see CyberArk.
