Supported Geneos versions Copied

ITRS supports all released versions based on the current plus the previous major versions of Geneos. Only the latest major version will receive regular security updates, fixes, and enhancements. In exceptional circumstances, critical fixes may be backported to previous major versions where it is not reasonably possible to upgrade to newer versions.

Geneos 5.x EOL

End of life for version 5.x.x is scheduled for 30 September 2025. If you are currently using version 5.x.x, we advise you to upgrade to the latest version before the EOL date.

Security-Enhanced Linux Copied

When Security-Enhanced Linux (SELinux) is running in Enforcing mode, it may deny certain functions of depending on the implemented configurations and policies.

To see which functions denies, check the audit log. The log is typically located in /var/log/audit.log, where the log type entry is AVC. The audit log provides the details of any denied access. For example, denied connection to the TCP port.

If you experience issues related to this mode, you may opt to disable , or create policy modules to grant the required access. Please contact your administrator or security team for assistance.

MQ plugins
  • Supported IBM MQ versions beginning Geneos 5.0.x to Geneos 5.12.x, 7.5.x, 8.0.x, 9.0.x.
  • Supported IBM MQ versions beginning Geneos 5.13.x, 9.0.x, 9.1.x, 9.2.x. This plugin only supports AIX for IBM MQ 9.1.x.
Netprobe and Collection Agent From Geneos 5.0 the Netprobe comes packaged with Collection Agent and StatsD plug-in on Linux and Windows platforms. Collection Agent can be started by the Netprobe via its configuration, or run standalone as containerised or non-containerised application. A version 5.1.2 or later, that is configured with a Mapping type, will not connect to a version 5.0.x or earlier. A failed connection will be recorded in the log, with a warning that the version is too old.
REST API

The currently deprecated Mappings configuration in the GatewayDynamic Entities will be removed from Geneos 5.11.0. You must update the configurations to use the simplified Mapping configuration. For more information, see Dynamic Entities.
Control-M Integration 1.x and older The end of support for Control-M Integration (third-party solution) ended on 30 November 2021. Upgrade to the Control-M plugin for Control-M 9.0.18 and newer.
All versions of Collection Agent, Gateway, Licence Daemon, SSO Agent, Web Dashboard, Webslinger The end of support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.x ended on 31 July 2021. Upgrade to RHEL 7.x or higher. For more information, see the notice from Red Hat article. ITRS will continue to support running the Netprobe and plugins on RHEL 6.x at least until the end of 2021.
Collection Agent, Cloud Foundry The end of support for Cloud Foundry plugin ended on 31 May 2021. This plugin is designed to work with Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) version 2.6 and older. These versions of PCF are no longer supported by its vendor VMware. There is no replacement for this plugin.
Gateway 5.8.x and newer Removed Express Reports feature of Gateway on 31 May 2021. Express Reports will continue to be available and supported for Geneos 5.7.x and older until 31 December 2021.
