SNMP privacy protocol support Copied

The aes256 (Blumenthal/ESO AES256) and aes256c (Cisco AES256) SNMPv3 privacy protocol options only support custom SNMP Polling Checks and SNMP Traps when the checks are run, or the traps are received, on the following operating systems:

This means that any Opsview Hosts using these pieces of functionality must be monitored by monitoring clusters made up entirely of collectors in those operating systems.

Note

In Opsview, the aes256 privacy protocol always refers to the Blumenthal/ESO draft protocol OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.14832.1.4. The aes256c privacy protocol always refers to the Cisco vendor protocol OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.12.6.1.2.

The DES privacy protocol options only support SNMP Checks, SNMP Polling Checks and SNMP Traps when run or received on the following operating systems:

This means that any Opsview Hosts using these pieces of functionality must be monitored by monitoring clusters made up entirely of collectors in those operating systems.

Warning

This assumes the default installation of Net-SNMP for each listed operating system. If this has been changed, support may vary.

The Network Topology feature does not currently support these privacy protocols.

For all supported protocols, see Supported SNMPv3 Protocols.
