Released: January 2018
This release provides an update to the event processing algorithm making it more accurate. A new Data Collector has been released to coincide with this update. For details on the Data Collector update, please see the Data Collector reference guide. If appropriate, a member of the Capacity Planner team will contact you to discuss upgrading the Data Collector to take advantage of new features and supportability enhancements.
A new event processing algorithm has been introduced to provide more accuracy and mine further different trends from utilisation patterns. This algorithm is applied across all metrics that are ingested by Capacity Planner.
Previously during event processing, a single model was used to calculate projected threshold crossings within a configurable ‘look ahead’ window. This has now been changed whereCapacity Planner will run a number of different trend detection techniques with varying parameters and then identify the trend with the strongest correlation with monitored data. This single trend will be presented to the user as the most accurate projection for that particular metric.
For more detailed information on the trend modelling and to discuss further configuration and modification of this, please contact your account representative.
