Highlights
These are the highlights of this release:
Release 102 mainly contains changes in administration and configuration of Capacity Planner to assist in the on-premise deployment of the product, configure default views for users and further improve Application Demand Modelling configuration capabilities.
Release 102.1 mainly contains bug fixes to address browser compatibility and styling issues.
New features and enhancements
These are the new features and enhancements of this release:
Issue key | Release description | |
---|---|---|
Release version 102.1 | ||
ICP-957 | Reporting configuration parameters have been extended to allow further Top-N style filtering. This allows you to reduce the number of results in the report to a selected number. | |
Release version 102 | ||
ICP-1088 | Capacity Planner can now process data at any granularity. However, for summary purposes, a 5 minute average timeseries for all metrics are created. If data is provided at a more fine grained level than 5 minute average, CPU 5 minute max and min metrics are available for viewing. | |
ICP-1019 | New Baseline Views that cover a period of 7 days or less are executed immediately after being created When a Baseline View covers more than 7 days, its status is set to scheduled and it becomes available with the next processing update. This is to decrease the amount of time it takes to process larger baselines. | |
ICP-978 |
It is now possible to alternate between aggregating timeseries by hosts or workloads in Metrics Explorer. The default aggregation is by hosts. Workload aggregation is more appropriate for application metrics, or when viewing core metrics from a service or application perspective. | |
ICP-970 |
When there are only physical workloads and no virtual machines represented in the Capacity Planner model viewed in the sunburst, the default metric view changes to CPU Configuration. | |
ICP-944 |
New hardware for which benchmarking statistics are not yet available, is not automatically loaded into a currently benchmarked model until the appropriate benchmarking statistics are provided. | |
ICP-761 |
All credentials are now encrypted in the Data Collector. To make use of this feature, the users are required to re-enter credentials in theData Collector job configurations. | |
ICP-723 |
Reports now show grouping filter values in body of the report if these have been selected by the user. Changes affect the following reports:
|
|
ICP-479 | A Data Coverage report is now available providing insight into which entities provided data for any given date range. Each row shows a count of data and the colouring is relevant to the row. Days, where there is less data than others (or none at all), are shown as lighter than days with full coverage of data. We recommended exporting this report into XLS format. |
Issues fixed
These are the issues we have fixed in this release:
Issue key | Release description | |
---|---|---|
Release version 102.1 | ||
ICP-807 | If you attempt to create a baseline for a time period for which one already exists, the system no longer processes a new baseline and instead uses the one that is already in the system. | |
ICP-1121 ICP-1123 ICP-1126 ICP-1129 ICP-1133 ICP-1135 ICP-1138 |
Internet Explorer and Firefox browser compatibility styling issues have been addressed in the following:
|
|
ICP-1125 | The Cluster table available from the Clusters panel in the Baseline View now formats correctly when viewed in Internet Explorer. | |
ICP-1141 | When reducing demand using a demand template to the point where demand is zero, the value is no longer displayed as n/a and is correctly shown as 0 . |
|
ICP-1144 | When running with a filtered sunburst view, only servers that match the filter are now shown in the scenario report. | |
ICP-1150 | Styling issues prevented users from adding multiple grouping columns to the Groupings Manager. This has been addressed and the users can now add numerous columns and edit each one individually. | |
ICP-1180 | Demand models that reduce demand are now shown in the operations summary. | |
Release version 102 | ||
ICP-1065 | If grouping configuration is such that day zero of a scenario model does not have a valid sunburst (for example, if all machines of a particular grouping are removed), then the report is generated with a message that the sunburst has no data to display. | |
ICP-1032 | When models are changed, the storage tab now updates correctly to show the storage entities and demand values for that given model range. | |
ICP-1006 | The project configuration window now presents the correct time duration for the current default baseline. | |
ICP-923 | If you remove the host ring from the sunburst, you can now correctly view workload metrics in Metrics Explorer. | |
ICP-908 | Property names with single quote characters in them no longer cause advanced reports using them to crash. | |
ICP-487 | When data collectors are upgraded, these now correctly retain their configuration data. |
